Adams thought the 52 targets referring to the 52 American hostages was a mistake because it's ancient history but I disagree with him on that. Muslims appreciate symbolism like this.

Some say the date 9/11 was chosen to commemorate the high point of Muslim expansion in Europe before they were sent high tailing it from the Gates of Vienna 9/11/1683.
