| | | <<The person who has benefited the most from Trump's action on the international stage has been Putin.>> Today on CNBC, a commentator said the Nord Stream 2 pipeline Russia is building is possibly the most important piece of infrastructure of the decade. It will cement Russia's future on the world stage both monetarily and politically, as Putin could pull the plug on Germany and other parts of Europe at will. This is Putin's baby and his legacy. Yet Trump is screaming like a banshee and threatening sanctions to try and get it stopped.
Unlike Obama, Trump armed Ukraine, and Trump has disrupted Putin's apple cart in Iran. You would have had more credibility, cj, if you had pointed to the fact that for 18 mos. Trump did nothing in response to Iran's increasing provocations in the ME. That fact would have supported your theory that Trump is Putin's stooge.
You aren't very observant if you haven't noticed that Trump is the most independent POTUS we have possibly ever had. He doesn't act to benefit anyone outside the USA, not even our traditional allies. And certainly not Putin. What could Putin do for Trump anyway? Trump has control over the most powerful country in the world while Putin presides over an incohesive federation, the whole of which continues to slowly deteriorate. These are hard cold facts, cj. Putin needs Trump, not the other way around, but Trump does what Trump wants and always with the sole purpose of protecting or benefiting American citizens only. |
