I am not sure what the right ratio is and arguably he probably should just ignore some of the minor players. If you are a dim, the media does all the fighting for you at least in public. They made hrc out to be "presidential" and her private demeanor was far from diplomacy and calm discourse. She routinely ripped people and reportedly threw things as well. The other aspect is that the dim leadership especially in big blue cities is rapidly alienating some of their loyal supporters. The ultra soft / non existent stance on crime hits home with lots of people who feel considerably less safe.
