windows 98 has big move, but that helps the memory guys more.
the mem in pc should be almost 100 meg by 2001.
dell is in the clear for now...what Jim patterson said would destory them is going to give them wind fall profits. He needs
internat'l eco 101
but they need to start using the internet on the vendor side.
that is internet IBO stds.
dell hasn't done much to allow the vendors to drop inventory.
just check out the turns on their vendors.
But, cpq is now putting in place supply side electronic management to allow vendors to recieve mat'l and have it flow out w/i days.
this just drops their cost. of course if they sell to dell. it drops their cost to dell.
the manufacturing chain needs to be treated holistically.
dell just has vendors stk mat'l in warehouses and ship on a phone call....but, someone has to pay for that inventory in the warehouse.
one person on this thread understands this.... can't remember his name
that's enough posts on dell thread for me.
many ofn this thread only like the rah rah rah dell....
to make a critical post on how they can improve isn't tolerated much.
