The only positive I can find in this “dog rescue” story is the fact that it didn’t last very long.

I have no doubt that you meant well but you neglected the fact that bringing any animal into your home isn’t just YOUR call. It’s a family project.

As far as “accidents” go … Something you should have anticipated and it has nothing to do with house training. The new environment stressed out the dog and thus caused the accidents. This happens with virtually all rescues or temporary guests.

Your experience which you kindly and honestly shared will hopefully serve as a lesson for those following this forum.
