Did Barack Obama take his presidential oath on the Quran?

C.E. Newsom, Politics junkie & presidential history nerd. Mystery writer.

Barack Obama actually took his presidential oath on a small stack of books: The Quran, the Constitution of the Republic of Kenya, and The Communist Manifesto by Karl Marx. If you look closely at a photo of his swearing-in, he also crossed his fingers on his raised right hand, so that he could legitimately say later that he wasn’t obligated to follow the oath of office since he had his fingers crossed.

Now, some actual reality. Barack Obama used two books when he was sworn in: A Bible once owned by Martin Luther King, Jr. and a Bible Abraham Lincoln used for his swearing-in in 1861.

But you either already knew that and this was some nonsense question, or you really didn’t know that and I weep for the gullibility of too many Americans.
