My best friend in college while going to school in Madrid was the cousin of the President of Venezuela, Carlos Andres Perez . We finished off a bottle of scotch one night at the Presidential Palace. He clearly spoke up on the advantages of socialism (or as much as one can while drunk) but was unconvincing. This was a man drunk with wealth...and taught me to never trust a government with such control over the people.
