xDSL and MPEG techs are different, but have a relationship. Currently, there is no way to send MPEG2 over a consumer modem. xDSL and cable modems promise to do this. DVD quality movies downloaded in 2, 3 minutes. If you can do it, a new digital video market opens up.

xDSL has limitation. It need a switch within 1 and 1/2 miles, or you don't get the performance. I've seen est. between 30% and 70% of US phonelines can carry it. Cable's shared bandwidth. MMDS and satelite are not limited by a wire.
