[pondering price drop]

TL and doc and all --

A couple thoughts re: Friday's price drop. First, was there anything published or said that would make Internet stocks drop as a group? I don't have time to check others in this sector.

Second, re the Microsoft threat, I've heard it said that few would want Bill G taking charge of their money. It seems to me a marketing campaign could ever so subtly use this fear to its advantage should the day come that Mr. G actually has a comparable product. I think I even read MSFTwas savvy enough to leave its name off their e-business. (Others will have to point out who owns it, if this is true.)

Banks have always been built on trust. Years ago they were even built of stone to resemble fortresses b/c this engendered public confidence. I believe the same psychology holds true of e-banking and e-billing. Now, though, the "stone" refers to name-brand. People trust IBM. They trust VISA. They trust WellsFargo. They trust AT&T. Would you put MSFT on that list?

Just a thought.
