If indeed this is a correct assumption, it gives support to the concept that people will evolve toward lighter skin color in areas that do not afford ample sun exposure. Individuals who were migrating out of the south would naturally have a darker skin color as a protective feature. Those who moved north would slowly evolve as longevity and survival would favor lighter skin...greater production of Vitamin D3 from sunlight. This would be most pronounced for people who did not have exposure to fish and fish oils.

Blue eyes is not an uncommon characteristic among the Sikhs and northern india groups. I saw many individuals wearing the sikh turban, with green green or blue eyes. I believe there is a tradition that they came into the area from the north on one or more waves of conquest common to that area. Again genetics would favor darker skin color as people moved south. I believe the same could be argued for other physical features as well.....but we seem to be in an era where emotional bullchitism is more popular than scientific analysis.
