Hiram:

The issue in deploying a state-of-the art LMDS system is
not a fiber optic one, it is a communications system
design one (including access protocol). I do not see what
HLIT has to offer in this area, while I do know that HP/STII
and Bosch Telecom have strong expertise in this area. HLIT
may be a great optoelectronic comnpany, but LMDS has little
to do with optoelectronics. The only place where optical fiber
comes in is in the need for a network connecting central
base stations.
