Off Topic info needed by all but of interest to only a few ? The sun has been over a year without sun spot/solar flare activity . When this happens the shield the Earth uses to protect itself is reduced and leaves our electrical system open to destruction . If a large Coronal Mass Ejection ( CME ) should hit Earth at a time of vulnerability , game over for our electrical system . The odds are low but are real at about 12 % .
