Tenchu's Thoughts - The Real Hillary Clinton Finally Emerges
I am LMFAO at this ...
Clinton weighs in on Sanders: 'Nobody likes him, nobody wants to work with him, he got nothing done'
He was in Congress for years. He had one senator support him. Nobody likes him, nobody wants to work with him, he got nothing done. He was a career politician. It's all just baloney and I feel so bad that people got sucked into it Holy crap! We now see the real Hillary Clinton show up. This is the same Hillary who was endorsed by Bernie Sanders after he was beaten by what was arguably a rigged primary. This is the same one who was supposed to be the antidote to that lying, racist, and misogynistic Trump.
We now see why she came across as ingenuine. We now see why her chief fault was lack of trustworthiness.
This is the real Hillary. She is a vindictive, entitled, and utterly hypocritical career politician. She only thinks about herself and what she thinks she deserves as an oh-so-self-made woman. She has terrible instincts when it comes to judging people, judging popularity, and feeling the mood of the country. And that's on top of her terrible instincts in just about everything else she did, whether it be running a presidential campaign or fulfilling her duties as Secretary of State.
She's that politician who, when pulled over for a speeding ticket, would tell the officer, "Do you know who I am? I can make your life very miserable." (Of course, she's smart enough these days not to do that in front of a body camera, but self-preservation is perhaps her only functional instinct.) She's the kind of person who can't stand large crowds, who can't relate to everyday normal people, and who would even scream at those that swore to protect her life just because they looked at her the wrong way.
She's just plain unlikable. And that makes her utterly unelectable.
But ... But ... Trump!
Which brings me back to Trump. Most of Hillary's supporters knew her faults and knew that she was a terrible politician. But they preferred her over that bombastic egotistical man-child whose rise to power was completely unexpected but portended a scary alt-right movement in America.
And yes, everything that Hillary is guilty of, Trump is arguably worse. Most of the Trump supporters on this thread would disagree, but I think his instincts are also terrible. I think he is also selfish and a hypocrite. And not only is Trump an unlikable person, he is utterly incapable of working with people who don't kiss the very ground he walks on.
But here's are two key differences.
First, Trump knows how to work a crowd. He tapped right into the fears of the Republican base of voters. He addressed their fears in ways that the so-called "establishment" Republicans failed to do. To his supporters, Trump was a breath of fresh air. He turned himself into the fighter that they were looking for. And that's key for a huge base of voters who have been disenfranchised and dismissed as "deplorable" not only by Hillary Clinton, but also the mainstream media, the intellectual elite, and all of the celebrities defining pop culture these days.
And second, Trump was brutally honest about his feelings. He broke through the wall of silence that the politically correct set up. He offended people who deserved to be offended, or at least became too complacent in the advantages they received from the liberal elite. But most important, he turned his faults, his brutal honesty, and his despicable personality into an asset. Being the fighter that his supporters wanted him to be meant getting downright dirty, and he successfully made himself into that guy.
So yeah, everything wrong about Hillary is everything wrong about Trump as well. But Trump knew how to connect with the right people. Hillary did not. And in politics, that makes a HUGE difference.
Sanders the Populist
Which brings me to Bernie Sanders. Yeah, I don't like his socialism. I don't like his platitudes. And I certainly didn't like him going along with the liberal establishment when he endorsed Hillary or when he joined in the crucifixion of Brett Kavanaugh.
But here's the thing. I acknowledge his ability to connect with the left, who feels that capitalism has failed them. I acknowledge his ability to exploit their jealousy of the rich. I acknowledge his appeal to the youth, who have been brought up in a public education system that taught them capitalism is evil and socialism is good. These youngsters then take a look at the Democratic establishment in Washington and see nothing but corporate bootlickers and corrupt sweet-talkers. They see old-school Democrats as politicians who talk a good game of wealth redistribution but don't actually walk the walk.
Bernie Sanders himself connected with a vast base of leftist voters who also felt that their party's establishment has ignored them or taken them for granted. That's how Bernie was able to mount a serious challenge to Hillary's dominance in 2016. Everyone in the media, and I mean EVERYONE, was convinced that the Democratic nomination, if not the presidency itself, was Hillary's to lose.
The Political Metagame
So what's going on here? Why all the sudden hate for Bernie Sanders by the media establishment? Do they really believe he's an old white man who can't fathom a woman being president? Do they seriously think that Bernie is secretly trying to help Trump win? Why are they going after him with a vengeance?
It's anyone's guess, but I suspect the Democratic establishment is deathly scared of being seen as socialists. If they weren't, they'd listen to Alexandria Occasional-Cortex and her so-called "squad" as they endorse Bernie. If they weren't, they'd proudly wear the socialist label knowing that younger voters no longer see that label as a warning.
Old-school Democrats still control the party. And they fear what they can't control. That includes Bernie Sanders and his brand of leftist populism. Even Elizabeth Warren tried to tap into that populism, but eventually her campaign imploded Hillary-style, and she became desperate enough to backstab Bernie with that accusation of misogyny.
One thing is for sure. I'm not the only one LMFAO. There's a certain Twitter-obsessed Boss Baby living in 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. And I can guarantee you that the people stuck in traffic on the Capitol Beltway can hear his laughter.
