President Trump sided with Sen. Bernie Sanders after the 2020 Democrat was ridiculed by Hillary Clinton.
"When Hillary says nobody likes him, nobody likes her. That’s why she lost. I mean, nobody liked her," Trump told Fox Business Network Wednesday.
"She’s the one that people don’t like. I think if I had my choice in terms of personality, I might take him over her. But I probably would take neither,” he added.
Clinton made waves on Tuesday after telling the Hollywood Reporter that she wouldn’t commit to endorsing the Vermont senator if he wins the 2020 Democratic presidential primary.
“I’m not going to go there yet,” she said.
In a forthcoming documentary, Clinton also said “ nobody likes” Sanders, who competed against her in 2016 for the party’s nomination.
"He was in Congress for years. He had one senator support him. Nobody likes him, nobody wants to work with him, he got nothing done. He was a career politician. It's all just baloney and I feel so bad that people got sucked into it,” she said.
The former secretary of state later backtracked in a tweet.
“I thought everyone wanted my authentic, unvarnished views!” she said. “But to be serious, the number one priority for our country and world is retiring Trump, and, as I always have, I will do whatever I can to support our nominee.” ... |
