NW West Virginia, like most states east of the Mississippi, had a few day of average Winter cold. Now we're back to warmer than normal as has been the new norm for this very warm winter east of the Mississippi since a few cold days in November! 50 degree hi forecast tomorrow AND not a single daily lo under 30 degrees until Feb 5th! Where is the cold trough headed after it's very brief stay in our back yard? See for yourselves.

Here's Lower 48 lo temp forecast for 1/29/20. Yep, right where it's been centered for 80% of this winter season.

North America has experienced dozens of ice ages over the past few million years. We have only fragmentary geological evidence, such as terminal moraines, for all but the most recent ice age which produced the Laurentian Ice Sheet, ending 10 to 12 thousand years ago.

Reality is, nobody knows exactly where the next Ice Age will make it's furthest southward penetration. Also, to assume every ice age has followed the Laurentian pattern in the past or will do so in the future can't be scientifically asserted as a high probability. More so because rapid magnetic North Polar movement away from North American toward Siberia is taking the lion's share of GSM extreme cold with it.

Finally, once the weakening North Canadian bi-pole is gone, in 5 to 7 yrs or less? Even America's norther tier states will see milder winter temps.

All IMHO,

Iso
