Doug - Since Asia is in the middle of a depression, 98 earnings are expected at best to be 28c. Because of this , the stock might continue on its Southbound voyage.

Yes, except when a company's stock starts approaching book value, P/E is often ignored. After all, what would you do if earnings were negative. Also, even if Korea, Indonesia and Malasia go into a depression, it isn't more than a short term blip for the U.S. since they make up very little of the end user demand. (Japan, OTOH, is another story, but I think it is unlikely they will fall off of the cliff. I suspect that they will continue to wander aimlessly.) And, as long as end user demand is there, somebody will make semiconductors to fill the void (as soon as they get over their fear of the unknown.).
