I just bought a SparQ last week, and was so tickled with the drive I decided to visit this thread. I couldn't believe I got this kind of storage power for 185 bucks (mail order). It works perfectly and I can tell no difference in speed for viewing graphics, etc., from my hard drive. I like it so much I may buy another one for my kid's computer just so I can move large files, drivers, etc. back and forth. In other words, for this price, I think this thing makes a nice 1 gig floppy drive! Why buy a 100 meg floppy drive for 99 when you can pay just a little more for a 1 gig that is much faster?
I had a hard time finding an internal SparQ. All the stores in my area were selling them as fast as they could get them and there were no cartridges available either, unless I was willing to literally wait on the truck. This drive is hot, and one salesman said I would not find one in the entire city I live in. I ended up finding it on the web at CMPExpress, but I have noticed they are flying out of their warehouse there too, since they have a real time inventory window. Anyway, this kind of success has made me take a look at the stock, which I may indeed do next week. How can the stock not eventually benefit from this type of market frenzy over this product? |
