ALL:I'd appreciate feedback on DELL's unit sales for the European market because my calculations show a 46% unit volume increase from Q3 to Q4 1997 - i.e. 267k units to 389k units. Please note that I haven't made any distinction between DELL's fiscal quarters & the calendar 1997 quarters because the difference shouldn't significantly differ from the 46% growth.

A recent Reuters article pegs DELL's market share at 5.8% on European unit P.C. volume of 19.4 million units in 1997. Subtracting this calculated volume from DELL's quarterly European results generates the 389K units.

If this calculation holds true and if we combine this with 15% unit volume increase in the Americas & zero growth in Asia we generate close to 1470k units - representing approximately 87› eps. This is significantly higher than the 75› Zack estimate and constitutes blow-out earnings.
