Profits - Re: Financial analysis

Your analysis needs some clarification.

1. "AMD revenues were nearly $2.5B in 1997"

AMD had revenues of $2.5 Billion in 1995 NOT 1997. They were only $2.35 Billion in 1997 and 2.1 or 2.2 billion in 1996.

In other words, AMD has not equaled their yearly sales peak (1995) SINCE THEY INTRODUCED their K5 and K6!

Makes you THINK, doesn't it?

2. "Vantis with other $300M in revenue." I think $ 243 million is more like it. BUT - Vantis has had quarterly DECLINING revenue for three of the past 4 quarters.
