| | Seaborn Seabras-1 IP Network adds links to U.S., European interexchanges

Seaborn Networks reveals that its Seabras-1 IP Network will connect to an additional six interexchanges by the end of this month. The new connections are evenly divided between the U.S. and Europe, with the three European connections already live.
The list of interexchanges includes:
- AMS-IX in Amsterdam, which went live on January 6, 2020
- DE-CIX in Frankfurt, which came online on the same date
- London’s LINX, also up and running on January 6
- San Jose – Equinix’s SV1 in San Jose, which is expected to be live by end of the month
- CoreSite LA1Any2 IX in Los Angeles, also expected to be online by the end January
- Ashburn – Equinix’s DC4 facility in Ashburn, VA, on the same timeframe.
Seaborn operates the Seabras-1 submarine cable between the U.S. and South America (see “Seabras-1 submarine network operational with Infinera XTS-3300 meshponders”). It reached an agreement with Aqua Comms in 2017 to connect this undersea system with Aqua Comm’s America-Europe Interconnect-1 (AEConnect) to offer onward connections to Europe (see “Seaborn Networks, Aqua Comms join for submarine network connection between South America and Europe”).

January is just the start of this exciting expansion of our IP network and we look forward to announcing more global exchanges for Seabras-1 being on-net for Seaborn shortly.”
