Mika was more than a pet to us. She was an integral part of our social life. A few times a week, I'd take work breaks and go to my neighbor to have a "play date" for Mika. She'd play in their backyard with his dog while we talked shop or catch on the news. I had other people bringing their pooch over to play with Mika in my yard. And the neighborhood kids whom I'd ever known before would call her or come and ask if they can play with her.

Now my kid cries and says but Mika was child and I have to explain to an 8 year old that even children can die. My 10 year old has been feeling guilty for all kinds of things, including closing the door to her room to prevent Mika chewing her toys. And last night she was sobbing herself to sleep and telling me that if Mika was to come back, she'd give her best toy to her to chew.

It's been very hard and it will take time to heal. I am having a hard time finding legal help. But the worst case scenario is that I will end up filing the court case myself. I am waiting for the autopsy report to come back.

Thank you all for your support. It's been wonderful.
