I agree with every sentiment in your post, inc. Romney. Romney is a globalist at heart, and actually most ranking leaders in his church are likewise. Romney would have been nothing more than an incrementalist, greasing the path the country was already on re trade agreements and immigration.

As far as loyalty to Trump goes, Trump has always had to fight against what is termed the Uniparty. Trump has something of a hybrid ideology, imo, and I suspect many GOP congress folk don't know what to do with that.

I have deep respect for Lindsay Graham and Ted Cruz right now. Both, but especially Cruz, were belittled mercilessly by Trump during the campaign, but both are great defenders of him, willing to put aside their hurt egos.
