thin client is not good for the knowledge workers who are in allot of apps and not just their erp or something doing transactions all day.
it's good for transactional workers only which I've spent my 30 yr career in obsoleting their jobs.
but, thin clinet could let me use 286,s, 386's for factory data collection it will allow those pc's to run win 95 or win98.
But, that would stop the server from getting a gig of mem since the reason I buy large servers is to increase the quality of process and reduce cost and cycle time.
one app is ELM which allows mrp/crp to run is a few seconds.
I have allot of hot links on this and I'm devising a couple of apps that will make me allot of money on thin client. I buy allot of mem regardless of thin client...
don't know the address answer since I have great techie for that stuff. one of the best in fact.
yr. 2001 a pc will avg. almost 100 meg of mem
