Yesterday I got Mika's autopsy report back and had a conversation about it with the vet (the good ones). There are several areas to be brought up, but she was reluctant to comment and urged me to discuss it with CVO. So I am going to contact them and file a formal complaint.

As to the court, I do not intend to sue him for loss of my dog. I am going to sue him for our pain and suffering and psychological damage to myself and my children. The kids had to witness their pup's gut open up and were holding its organs in their hands so that it would not drag on the floor. My youngest did not want to come in the car for a week and my middle one has been having extreme feelings of guilt...this is just some of the issues.

Other issues. I have several other documented issues regarding his care of the dog and lack of following best practices.

So please talk to your prof. But mention that the case is that as a result of his mishandling the medical procedure, he caused injury to us (the humans). The dog is only a part of the case.
