The only reason all the RINOS and Trump-haters didn't flip on this vote is because they smelled victory for the President - and re-election for him too. Probably the dynamic is a bit more complicated than what we see on the surface especially with Collins and Rummy. Several big things come to mind: 1) DJT is a force and is gaining popularity and his coattails especially in some states will be long. 2) He has 92+ % approval of republicans - many know their constituents will throw them out 3) DJT was a question mark for a time but any republican with 1/2 a brain can see that DJT is a GREAT president. I think he has won many over. On the downside, some big money supporters don't like certain aspects such as immigration control so I am guessing some donors would rather have open borders and line for "the good old days". Romney has something major wrong with him. He is a loser. Above all else - Donald J Trump has done nothing wrong.
