>> an affair with a (at the time) 21year old shows such poor judgement that if true I have lost all respect for him and expect most Americans feel the same.<<
Hard to argue with this, V1. I suspect it is true that he was sexually involved with her, but since it was just oral sex, its not really an affair (:>)
>>Second, he denied having a sexual reationship with the young woman under oath. My understanding is that he admitted to a sexual relationship with Genifer Flowers. If it is proven that he lied.( The smoking gun apparently may be a seamen stained dress.) then he comitted perjury.<<
Yes, that would be perjury although they rarely indict for such things in a civil case. However, the President should be held to a higher moral standard than others. IMO, it is worse that he lied to the American people on National Television, if, in fact, he did. However, I do not think it will be necessary to show perjury or witness tampering. If it becomes clear he had the affair, I believe he will resign. Anything else would be a complete circus.
We will have to see if there is a criminal trial. I hope for the sake of the country there will not be. Not sure that a pardon from Gore would ruin his political career, but it certainly wouldn't help. Personally, I think the Dems need someone new in any case given all the troubles of this administration. I kind of like Bradley.
>>Third, how about this woman who taped her supposed friends converstions and turned the information over to the prosecutors. With friends like that who needs enemies.<<
Yeah, she is a real slime ball. I would not be surprised if she was being paid by some of Clinton's political enemies. Both she and Monica will be set for the rest of their lives with book deals. Clinton may have to do a few deals as well since he may have trouble finding a job. |
