Here's my take on what has been happening in recent times within the Nordic countries....

The indigenous peoples of the Scandinavian countries have always paid a high tax rate. In fact virtually everyone paid the same rate of tax. But the Scandinavians were prepared to do that because their income levels were generally high as were their employment levels. So they could afford to have very good medical services and social benefits for very low cost because the country was taking in a relatively large amount of tax revenue per capita.

BUT THEN ..... Europe and Scandinavia experienced a HIGH INFLUX OF "ECONOMIC" MIGRANTS AND "REFUGEES" FROM NORTH AFRICA, SYRIA, etc, etc..., thanks, primarily, to Angela Merkel's initial Open Door policy. Therefore once a North African, Syrian, or any other "Non-European" set foot on Western European soil, they could travel anywhere in Europe because EU countries have no borders.

And MANY HEADED FOR SCANDINAVIA because of all those SOCIAL BENEFITS THAT ONE COULD GET !!!

So now the populations of countries like Finland, Sweden, etc, began increasing dramatically, and the ratio of Non-taxpayers to Tax Payers in those countries increased dramatically. So now there were more people claiming benefits who were not high earners and therefore were not high level taxpayers. So now the "Social Benefit pot" had to be spread among a far larger number of individuals with inevitable disastrous results ....
