A study on hypertension across three population groups (White European, African, South Asian) found that hypertension prevalence and ACE2 expression was proportionally linked, with the highest of the three (South Asian) being 10% more than the African and 35% more than the European cohorts. The statistics here go a long way to explaining why the previous SARS outbreak did little damage beyond Chinese borders and shows the susceptibility of the Chinese population to zoonotic Coronavirus infections, debunking theories that Corona-chan is a test tube baby
