Taking some profits off the table serves many purposes aside from the obvious... It gives one the psychological sense that the risk is reduced, (which it is) enough to ride whatever the market does... when you have a full position then any downside move just feels more exaggerated... Even if the size of position closed out is small, it still gives one that sense of accomplishment and also continued enjoyment of still being in the move with much less risk... GZ
