I suspect Russia is a better example. A pretend democracy with pretend elections. Most wealth stolen and owned by a few powerful men. Putin stays in power with the help of the Russian Orthodox Church. He anesthetizes the population with cheap Vodka. I suspect Chump has used Putin as his template for eventually gaining absolute power. So far he is making excellent progress towards that objective.
