Thankyou for your calm, reasoned response. I still disagree with you, however. The reason that the discussion of the effects of dipyramidole is very relevant here is that it happens to be a Type V-PDE inhibitor (like sildenafil) being currently used in clinical medicine (for details of it's Type V properties, see: J. Urol., 152:2159, 1994).

Further, for cardiac stress testing it's infused intravenously (0.14 mg/kg/min) over a 4- minute interval to achieve high serum concentrations in a subset of patients with known or probable atherosclerotic heart disease. This is the SAME subset of patients for whom the use of sildenafil is drawing so much concern. For now, until further is known about sidenafil, this is our best approximation of its possible adverse effects on this ED patient population.
