I think that the effect on the markets of having Clinton leave office is overstated. What Alan Greenspan does has a greater effect than what the president has done over the last few years, and I would hope that a President Gore would have the good sense to leave him alone. Notice I said "hope".

Also, I don't think this scandal is going to drag on all that long. It broke Tuesday, and hit critical mass very quickly. Unlike Watergate, if the president is forced to resign, I'll bet it will be in weeks instead of months or years.
