It’s no accident that AOC talks about 15 hour work week and other such beautiful stuff. It’s a serious part of the New Left’s agenda.

A while back I found a rather sympathetic review of one of the important theoretical New Left books:

They offer a specific four-point ‘anti-work’ political agenda as a suggested starting point: full automation; reduction of the working week; a Universal Basic Income (UBI); and diminishment of the work ethic.

They want to use robotics, AI and other advances in tech and productivity to advance their own political agendas. I wouldn’t take it lightly -- the ideas of UBI, of doing only “the work you enjoy”... in changing the understanding of the importance of work (why hard workers are “good” people, and those who chose not to work, “bad”?) — in all of this, there is a lot of appeal to millions of people, and a lot of votes.

Even her “Milton Keynes” stupid girl stunt (which probably WAS just ignorance) had a curious effect - everyone’s talking (and laughing) about the 15 hour work week and such. She took the initiative. She started a conversation. There isn’t just money behind her, there is also a strategy.
