Here's one last post that may be more meaningful regarding scandal and the stock market..
I noticed in today's San Diego Union that, apparently, Monica Lewinsky's lawyer says his client will agree to an admission to affair with Clinton for immunity but will not agree to state that either the
president or Vernon Jordan asked her to lie about the affair. This would remove the serious legal evidence of obstruction of justice against Clinton but leave him open to perjury for earlier statements about intimate/sexual relationships with Lewensski . How does one
define afffair/intimate relationship? This could be interesting, revelant & perhaps of social value.
This article went on to say that Lewinsky was "surrounded" by FBI agent and lawyers and quizzed for 9 hours. Her lawyer says she remains devastated by this experience.
Lewinsky's lawyer said her ordeal began Jan 16 when she was "lured" to a swank hotel near a mall where she had worked at Christmas. "She was immediaely surrounded " Ginsberg said on CNN, by FBI and US attoorneys .She was "urged to talk/ to "cooperate". From 1PM till 10:30..nine hours with no no access to an attorney. She was no arrested, but intimidated by threat of the imminence of prosecution against and the threat of prison. They increased the pressureeby threatening to bring her parents in under subpoena and question them as well. While at the hoter, she called her parents for help and they/Ginzber got herr ut of there

If Mr " Whitewater" Starr is forced to take plea bargain excluding obstruction of justice etc mayby they'l bounce this rubber ball guy back to chasing ambulances. The approach to Lewinsky was immoral, in my opinion.
In any case, it may help the market, if this is just a sex scandal. Maybe the people will focus on the lack of value to them of a government that just keeps "being a kettle calling the pot black" and start demanding performance (IE campaing finance reform) (term limits for commitee chairmen like Jessie Helms); start demanding results from our govt..This could even spark a new interest by people in our Demoocaic procees. Talk is cheap, and California's 30 sec sound bite/ mud slinging adds really get old. This could be good for USA credibility and the stock market. And, of course, we know what's good for Ligand is good for the county..so lets move forward & make some $$$$$
