I NEVER use a simple Stop-loss order.... you are just asking to be fleeced. But a Limit Stop-loss will get you what you are prepared to sell for.

I use the limit stop-loss order to:

1. Give a stock a chance to reverse its drop.
2. To reduce the emotion involved in making the sale.... when I manually sold I would agonize over the sale and usually sold too late....I would fall love with a stock...such a romantic
