My Pinnacle Studio 14 requires the media being processed to be on the C: drive and those files can be over 500gb, but usually around 100-150gb. The C: drive limitation is a pain and the software is old, but I know how to use it and it does much of what I want. Pinnacle 14 will write to a drive other than C: but will only read from C:.
