OT: To all; This is not intended to create a huge discussion so if you agree, or disagree, simply give this post a recommendation or ignore it entirely but don't respond. Anyway, I just did a little calculation based upon the current death rate of those infected by the corona virus which is 2.3%.

If and of course this is not going to happen the entire world population of 7.7 billion was to catch this virus one hundred seventy-seven million people or slightly more might die.

That's a lot of people but certainly not the Spanish influenza death rate which was somewhere between 10-20% of all who were infected.

Corona virus death rates are higher among the elderly and those whose health is already compromised.

As I sit here today affected by a mild cold but otherwise in good health for a 62 year old male I have little fear of surviving the flu which has only 0.01 death rate. That's so low that I don't bother to get a flu shot as I have only had the flu once in the last 37 years.

I did get the most recent Shingles vaccine and I would do the same were there a vaccine available for COVID-19 (The Corona Virus).

In the meantime I won't be doing any international traveling or boarding any cruise ships.

It's life as normal for me and I think most of us in the good old USA.

Sure companies like AAPL with manufacturing concerns due to the resultant slowdown in production is China are going to likely warn and warn again in future months.

That has got to be expected.

Fear is the one thing that could derail the stock market. If the death rate increases so much that consumers stop spending it will be a problem.

Truth is I can spend just as much (more) money sitting on my couch as I did 20 years ago traveling to whatever brick and mortar site or location back then.

Bottom line for now is I see no reason to panic.
