Wonderful, and many thanks for a full and comprehensive answer and explanation, it's very much appreciated...

Interestingly enough, I went ahead and did some testing for what it was worth, if anything, and you may find the results of my testing interesting...

I had the headphones plugged in and had the volume turned up to around 75% which is pretty high but not all the way...

I then did a restart to see if I could possibly hear any kind of crackling or sizzling, or any sort of noises that could cause any damage to the sensitive speakers inside the headphones... as it shut down it was absolutely quiet, dead silence... then, as it restarted back up again not a single sound of any kind... I was very happy about this as you could imagine...

Then, I did a regular shut down, again no sounds at all, none... I waited about 15 seconds and then started it up again and again not one single sound at all... oh, I was very happy with the results of my brief experiment...

I realize this was only one sample test but enough to tell me that those kinds of sounds or loud electronic surges which I read about during my online research are not happening with my PC and more than likely didn't happen during the two or three times I had the headphones plugged in while I did a restart and a regular shut down before I posted my concerns on this forum...

Again, thank you very much for your full and detailed summation, I find it very valuable and it also supports the findings of my brief experiment which I thought you might find interesting...

So many thanks for your kind and thoughtful replies!!!
