Bloomberg makes his money by renting financial data terminals.

A Bloomberg terminal is a computer system that allows investors to access the Bloomberg data service, which provides real-time financial data, news feeds, messages and also facilitates the placement of financial transactions.

They rent for $24,000 a year. And I've read there are over 368,000 out there. IOW Bloomberg makes more just from these terminals each year than Trump, who has NEVER been a billionaire, has ever fantasized about being worth.

Bloomberg's dad was a bookkeeper for a dairy. Bloomberg started the business Bloomberg started the business in 1981. So he is a real self-made billionaire.
