Why is Trump eliminating funding for Stars and Stripes? Nick Malik, Citizen, Voter, Patriot, Internationalist, American Stars and Stripes, the newspaper of the American military, has been a staunch supporter of conservatism and the military for 60 years. Therefore it should come as no surprise that Trump hates the newspaper. It has been critical of his policies that gut support for veterans, show disrespect to our soldiers and sailors, and undercut our position in the world.
