I agree with you on the fact that MSFT can't misstep w/W98 and NT5. I bought the W98 preview kit, and it is a CAI (Computer Aided Instruction on CDROM) manual on W98. It takes you through step by step how to do some (not all are implemented yet) of the functions of W98. I have used CAI before and this is pretty good. At the end of each section there is a 4-5 question quiz to answer to see how you have done. This might be a good idea for them to pursue. If you get a chance, you might look at it.

There are some features that will make me go to W98 like the ability to go to large capacity drives as one volume, with small allocation sizes. ( I have an 8.4G Maxtor that I am currently evaluating. )

CE is already available on the new palmtops, and so far (I looked at the display) looks OK. My HP 200LX uses a different window display.

I think that the MSNBC link is OK if they're using it to develop and debug their system. I agree that they shouldn't advertize, and should just let the quality of their work speak for itself.

Next, I would concentrate on the core suite of programs in Office, and closely followed by the suite of development tools like Visual Suite.

I don't think that any money should be in developing games, per se. I look at MSFT as a 'tool' not as a 'toy', and games are definately toys.

As for mailers, I'm not sure that isn't wasted money! I seldom buy from mailers, but sometimes.

Super bowl time!

Bye

Ken
