Steve,

<and the news media (which to date has consistently missed the mark re: embedded). I think they could and should be doing more. If they want to make things happen NOW, one avenue they shouldconsider is an advertising schedule on cable TV (very affordable), specifically CNN,
CNNFN, CNBC, etc.

I agree with much of your post. However, I'd hold off on approaching TAVA at this point in time.

Tony Keyes is already working with the Oprah producers, who are interested in taking the Y2K issue further. I've already emailed Tony the link for the SI Year 2000 Embedded Systems thread.

His goal is to get an hour devoted to the issue, so that a group of specialists can discuss the full ramifications. Tony considers me a "specialist" <wink>

He's also dogging the Larry King show, GMA and others.

I developed the Embedded System thread specifically to educate the public and media. I would appreciate people posting links and summaries of relevant articles or info. I can't do it all myself.

Remember guys. These things take time. Don't plan on seeing a Y2K Ophrah show in the next few weeks!

HERE'S THE DIRECT LINK TO "YEAR 2000 EMBEDDED SYSTEMS" THREAD:

Thanks,

Cheryl
