Free markets are free to speculate and value is in the eye of the beholder. For A something is worthless when at the same time for B the same is priceless. The new generations have a very different take on what is worth, most seek instant gratification and do not bother to think about the future, - that's for them old people thinking. In their view future will take care of all of them. One great example is the sudden panic of global warming, well the King was naked for a very long time and I saw it in 1980 but no one really cared at the time,so for 40 years and probably more the pollution resulting from technological achievements was ignored now serious people woke up and the youngster went into hysteria mode. Same with playing the ownership in a myriad of companies that IMHO generate a lot of hot air or products that do not enhance our quality of life but to the contrary initiate addiction or induce health problems and shorten our fives (e.g. cigars and cigarettes and many other products packaged in plastic bottles) the main motto is short term tunnel vision and not a long term holistic approach. Our food is vitamins and mineral deficient thanks to fertilizer companies and humanity is exposed to more health problems and the human body has difficulty to fight pathogens microbes and viruses.
