hi fred, i have been a follower of gateway since the company went public. i sold at a loss last year after doing much research. the analyst and the tech magazines were all saying that the big boys, cpq, dell, hwp were selling more pc's at the expense of the gateways and microns. well anyway, i see where lehman upgrades the stock. i was looking back on an older lehman report dated 09/09/97. they had gtw's 4th qtr estimates at .68. of course this was before gateway reported its 3rd qtr numbers. then all the analysts began to downgrade and slash their estimates. frankly i am suprised to see gtw have such a nice qtr, however, if the estimates had not been lowered, gtw would have missed their number. just some thoughts and wondering how gateway will do in 98. lws
