The Jewish community was divided over Sanders reflecting divisions about Israel. Plenty of Bernie followers I know believe Israel to be an illegal state and that Zionism is racism. This was generally a show-stopper for many Jews who otherwise might support Democratic Socialism's objectives. Bernie seems to have gotten in front of this potentially politically fatal position. Just my observation from Bernieville, CA.
