Carol, at the moment (sentiment changes all the time lately), it looks like a majority of Americans believe Clinton should resign if he committed any crimes like perjury and suborning perjury and obstructing justice. This seems more important than just the affair with the young women, although many of them are offended at the continuous breach of trust coming from this White House.

No, sexual dalliances are not impeachable. Well, high crimes AND misdemeanors are impeachable, as I understand it, and a lot of people are upset about the position of trust and responsibility Clinton had because she was an intern who worked under him (no pun intended, really), but the impeachment process is political, and it is doubtful he would be impeached for a sexual dalliance. But the impeachment law is written broadly.

The problem with him staying in office if he just had a sexual dalliance is that he has sworn under oath that he did not. That's perjury, and it's going to be hard for him to wiggle out of. But it's not obstruction of justice, which will probably be harder to prove. Both are felonies, but sentiment makes obstruction of justice more objectionable to many people.

Actually, I just watched an ABC Sunday program, and I think he's TOAST!!! The national newspeople were talking about when the resignation will happen--within a few days--and the Gore presidency. Someone suggested it would not be a good idea for Gore to pardon Clinton, like Nixon was pardoned by Gerald Ford, which wrecked Ford politically. I wonder if anyone has told Billy yet!!

Here is a poll--I may have shown you this one before, though:

One big problem today for Billy is the story about the witnesses to the sex act with Monica--either Secret Service agents or staff people. I don't think this is going to go on much longer, really. It is unfolding too fast for that.

You're right about that laundry room incident--quite a lot of POSTURING was involved doing it on top of the dryer, hehehe.

Okay, your angel is getting lonely on her own!!
