Earthquakes during the last 48 hours at the Reykjanes peninsula (image: IMO)

The Icelandic Met Office (IMO) reported that the CO2 emissions reached hazardous levels and low levels of O2 were measured at the cave (popular for hikers) in the Eldvörp area on the Reykjanes Peninsula on 20 February.
On 20 February an earthquake swarm started 10 km N of Gjögurtá. Over 200 earthquakes were detected by the seismic network with magnitude below M 3.0.
