>>OK, Grant, I'm getting to your post now. Let me say first that I haven't really looked at the Gigamux. I don't know exactly how it functions, the exact price, etc. Also, detailed technology specifications are hard for me to grasp. I am not an engineer and I don't work in telecom/bandwith/fiber-optic industries.>>
Craig- This is exactly the part of the company that you should be paying the most attention to and yet you are ignoring it. Yes, they have done some financings in the past that are a little crazy at first glance, many of which you have incorrectly interpretted, intentionally or unintentionally. I have neither the time nor the patience to point out each and everyone... (I do have a life other than sitting on the internet 24 hours a day).
Stock lesson 101: Stock prices are based on expected future cash flows and earnings. Everthing that you have brought up over the last few days is in the past. They had to do quite a few fancy financings in lieu of secondary equity offerings to acuire the companies and technologies they have and are apparently a little over your head (you did admit that you are no accounting wiz, so I'll let it slide) Part of the reason for the fallout in the price last year was due to delays of the new products... Gigamux and IQX both by about 1 qtr each and Net Arm by a little more. On top of that we had our great gift from Barrons (I say gift because it allowed me to average down to prices which let me accumulate more than I would have ever been able to afford at the higher levels).
My kind advice to you is to do some research, as I have, on the products and those who are using them as I have. If you do, I can almost guarentee that you will cover. If you are attacking the company because you don't like the management... Managements can always be replaced... it's the products that count.
It really blows my mind that you are short and yet admit to not knowing much about the products and their respective potential, which is the whole key to the future price of the stock. Get a hold of the Forrester research piece... they have talked with evaluators of the Gigamux and went out on a limb to say that CSCO will acquire either Osicom or CIEN to enter the WDM market. I'm certainly not banking on this myself, and personally, I hope it doesn't happen, but it shows you what a well respected, objective, technology research firm thinks about Osicom's Gigamux. Incidentally, the Forrester report goes out to several Wall St investment banks and I believe sells for about $18,000 (could be wrong on that price, but it is way up there regardless)... and maybe you were wondering where that volume was coming from over the last few weeks???? Institutions are buying!!! How can I be certain? Because I know. Which is another reason why you are finding it difficult to get stock to short.
Oh yeah... the Net Arm? They had to hire a temp just to keep up with the flood of request they have recently received for information since the front page cover story of it in EE Times.
IQX-200??? Well, you'll see... I've given you enough to worry about for now.
Future stock price is not about what they have had to do to get where they are today, it is about their potential and what they make of that potential. With the 3 key products beginning to sell now, the potential looks pretty promising to me. |
