I don’t have any better ideas than what you are suggesting. And your analysis is spot on as well. Looks like my commodity holdings are about to increase. Sold yesterday a few puts on XOM. If this morning’s futures are an indication, I’ll probably get filled. With the dividend pushing 6.5%, so be it. If my hypothesis about CoViD is correct - and I’m fairly confident that it is - I’d expect things to get worse (psychologically) before they get better. There will be a bit of a panic as we get a wave of cases - but, soon enough people will realize that it’s not the end of the world, just one more bug to deal with... and things will return to normal. Humans generally have a limited capacity for fear and pessimism. We get tired of those things - and rebound.
