Only a very few class of viruses, which I don’t think include Coronas, are not self-limiting. SARS, MERS, etc., are the examples. All came and went like present CV will undoubtedly do.

This means that this too shall pass.

Only question is amount damage done before self-limitation takes place.

So, imo, the whole episode is an enormous opportunity because eventually CV will self-limit by killing a small percentage of the host and most will recover to soldier on uneventfully. In the meantime, many will panic though some will regrettably die.

However, Xi screwed up enormously by massaging data.

Why do that? China had an opportunity to garner prestige. Instead, all the world will remember what the Chinese populace has front and center in its mind: a dead ophthalmologist.

Huge loss of face.

He needs to go so China can become a better world citizen instead of over-ambitious pseudo hegemon. It’s action re: CV were a triple self-goal.

CV is showing how China is traveling in the wrong direction.

Get ready for rally as folks gather their wits.
